Balance Men's MT10v2 Minimus Trail Running Shoe
After dealing with running pains (ankle, knees, back, etc.) since joining the Army, I finally got the notion that maybe there might something to the minimalist shoe concept. I used the input from a long distance running battle buddy in my unit to decide on this pair of shoes. Trail shoes made sense for the rocky terrain that is here in Afghanistan.Out of the box, the shoes fit well, and I did not really require any breaking in of any kind. Everything seemed intact and ready to wear. I did however went off of the recommendations of a few other feedback posts on here that I might be want to go a half size higher then my regular shoes. I have plenty of space in my shoe, almost too much. But it does not casue any comfort issues though.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are new to this shoe type, please read up on running techniques and a muscle buildup schedule to let your legs get used to the shoes. I ran about 1.5 miles the first day and my calve muscles were mildly sore the next two days. I did some running in my Crossfit class, no issues, and then I decided to run a 5k with my unit. About 3/4 of the way through my lower calf muscles were noticably sore. My legs were considerably sore for the next couple of days.
